Letter from Hilo Bike Hub Inc. on Covid-19 (revised 3/25/2021) Aloha mai e nā cycling fanatics o Hilo, The health and safety of our customers and staff has always been my #1 priority. This has never been
more important to our company than today. As an "essential business", our store has remained open during these very uncertain times. Our Hawaiʻi Island residents have made major sacrifices such as working from home, childcare, social interaction and social gatherings in the effort to minimize and slow down the spread of Covid-19. And due to our steadfast commitment to our community (mālama kekahi i kekahi), our community has some of the lowest rates and active cases of infection throughout the state. The steps we all have taken since the end of March 2020 have allowed us to remain open to serve our community, and we are so grateful for your support!
Since more people have been riding bicycles during the mandatory stay-at-home order took in to effect, and relying on our bicycles for exercise and transportation has been seen in greater numbers all around Hawai'i island. For many people, bikes are an important part of daily life. They are transportation for cycling commuters, and for many other people bikes are a convenient, healthy, and economical way to get around. More than ever, bike shops provide an essential service to the community. Personally, I am grateful that I can still get outdoors. Riding my bike is my way to deal with stress and get fresh air. We want to make sure you’re still able to get out and ride too. Whether you need new gear or your bike needs service, Hilo Bike Hub has been working extremely hard to keep bicycles and parts available through this time of short supply/heavy demand for bicycles. Despite the current uncertainty, our staff has stepped up to do whatever is needed. I am so proud of my team. When we started this company over 26 years ago, I could not have imagined the remarkable people who would join me on this ride. I have no doubt our company and community will be stronger because of this. From the 'ohana Hilo Bike Hub to yours, be well. Naʻu me ka mahalo a me ka haʻahaʻa loa, Na Chris
